Ideas for Writing Activities
Create your own rules for being a good pet!
You now have your own wild animal as a pet! This new pet is no ordinary house cat or fluffy dog.
- Describe what your new pet looks like and draw a picture to go with it on a blank paper plate. Color, size, fur, scales, claws, eyes, tails, or anything else.
- Create a list of AT LEAST FOUR (4) or more rules that you need for your new pet on lined paper.
- Find your teacher/parent and have them tape the description paper plate to the lined list of rules.
- Present your wild animal and rule list to your class mates or hang them up and decorate your room!
If your pet could talk...
Have you ever wondered what your pet was thinking or what it would say if it could talk?
I sure do!
I sure do!
- Draw a picture of your pet (or a pet you want if you don't have one) IN THE MIDDLE of a blank piece of computer paper.
- Next, draw at least four or more word bubbles coming out of the sides of your pet's mouth.
- Then, write what you think your pet would say if he or she could talk. Are they asking questions? Giving you advice?
- Once you're finished, share with someone next to you!
Let's make a moose out of adjectives!
We will be building a moose together by using adjectives! Each person will get a part of a moose and will pick one adjective (describing word) and write it on their moose part. Think of an adjective for the moose part you have. What color is it? Is it soft and furry like its fur or hard and tough like a hoof? After we have written one adjective down for each moose part we will put it together!
