Poetry Activities Rationale
The purpose of the activity is to have students generate (synthesis) a scenery and describe it through their writing. When another student is reading another peer's writing they should be able to see, feel, smell, etc. what the writer is seeing, feeling, and smelling. This activity relates to:
- Write narratives in which they recount a well-elaborated event or short sequence of events, include details to describe actions, thoughts, and feelings, use temporal words to signal event order, and provide a sense of closure. (W.2.3.)
