Organization Activity
Story String Necklaces
We will be creating a fun art project that will teach the beginning, middle and end of a story in the correct order.
Materials we need are: different colors of yarn or string, three different colors of note cards, scissors, and markers.
Everyone will get three different colored note cards and will write "First" on card #1, "Next" on card #2, and "Last" on card #3.
Once you have read the story begin to retell the story in just THREE sentences. You will start your first sentence with, "First" and then continue the sentence and write it on card #1. The second sentence should start with "Next" and will be written on card #2. Card #3 should start with "Last" and will be the last sentence.
Read your sentences out loud in the order you have put them in and see if they make sense in order of beginning, middle, and end. If not go back and try again! If your cards are in order, hole punch them in the corners and string onto the string to finish your Story String Necklace!
